At a minimum, Call Connector must find a contact match for the call, SMS, fax, or meeting event. This is because it is impossible to create a Clio Grow Note without a contact.
Since the Clio Grow API does not allow apps to create contacts, if a contact is not found, the event cannot be logged.
If a contact match is found, and the contact has a single associated matter, the Note will be created in association with this matter. Otherwise, the Note will be associated with the contact record directly.
How Events Are Logged
Call
Calls are logged as Notes in Clio Grow.
At a minimum, an existing contact must be found matching the phone number from the call, or email from the meeting. Call Connector will not be able to create new contacts or matters, due to a limitation of the Clio Grow API.
Note that Clio Grow’s API does not allow any integration to update an existing record. Therefore, instead of adding the summary and storage links to the original call log, Call Connector will create new records with this data. Reference the screenshot below for an example.
Call logged in Clio Grow as a Note in several parts. The original log is in one part, with the “From” and “To” information. Following updates are created as new Note records.SMS
SMS are also logged as Notes, in the same way as calls.

Clio Grow does not support file uploads via the API. Therefore, Call Connector will not log faxes to Clio Grow.
In Call Connector v2, faxes will be logged as notes, with no file attachment.
