Reconnection Required for Clio Grow Users
Last updated: June 26th, 2026
We have upgraded CallConnector.ai's connection to Clio Grow to use Clio's newest API. This is a behind-the-scenes improvement that keeps your integration reliable going forward.
As part of this upgrade, existing Clio Grow users need to reconnect their integration one time for call logging to continue.
Who this affects
This applies to you if you currently have Clio Grow connected to CallConnector.ai.
Why do I need to reconnect?
This is a one-time step and takes about 2 minutes.
The upgrade moves your integration to Clio Grow's newest API. Your previous connection was authorized against the old API, so it needs to be re-authorized against the new one. Until you reconnect, your calls will not log to Clio Grow.
How to reconnect Clio Grow
- Log in to your CallConnector.ai dashboard.
- Go to Integrations > System(s) of Record.
- Find Clio Grow and click Disconnect.
- Click Connect (the button that appears after you disconnect).
- A window will pop up — log in to Clio Grow and approve the connection.
- Once you see "App Connected," click Close Window. Clio Grow will now show a green Connected badge.
Once reconnected, call logging resumes automatically.
What happens if I don't reconnect?
Call logging to Clio Grow will pause until you complete the steps above. No calls need to be re-entered manually as long as you reconnect promptly. Once you reconnect, logging resumes automatically.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Will I lose any data?
No. Reconnecting restores the integration, and logging resumes automatically once you're reconnected.
- Do I need to set everything up again from scratch?
No. This is a one-time reconnect, not a full re-setup. Your existing configuration stays in place.
- I reconnected, but calls still aren't logging. What should I do?
Confirm that Clio Grow shows a green Connected badge under Integrations > System(s) of Record. If it does and calls still aren't appearing, contact us at support@callconnector.ai.

At a minimum, CallConnector.ai must find a contact match for the call, SMS, fax, or meeting event. This is because it is impossible to create a Clio Grow Note without a contact.
Since the Clio Grow API does not allow apps to create contacts, if a contact is not found, the event cannot be logged.
If a contact match is found, and the contact has a single associated matter, the Note will be created in association with this matter. Otherwise, the Note will be associated with the contact record directly.
How Events Are Logged
Call
Calls are logged as Notes in Clio Grow.
At a minimum, an existing contact must be found matching the phone number from the call or email from the meeting. CallConnector.ai will not be able to create new contacts or matters due to a limitation of the Clio Grow API.
Note that Clio Grow’s API does not allow any integration to update an existing record. Therefore, instead of adding the summary and storage links to the original call log, CallConnector.ai will create new records with this data. Reference the screenshot below for an example.
Call logged in Clio Grow as a Note in several parts. The original log is in one part, with the “From” and “To” information. Following updates are created as new Note records.SMS
SMS are also logged as Notes, in the same way as calls.

Clio Grow does not support file uploads via the API. Therefore, CallConnector.ai will not log faxes to Clio Grow.
In CallConnector.ai v2, faxes will be logged as notes, with no file attachment.
