AI Call Summary | Call Connector

AI Summary

This option determines whether Call Connector generates a short summary of each call and adds it to the call log in your connected app. The summary appears labeled as [Ai Summary] at the end of the log body.

How summaries are generated

The source depends on your Premium Transcription setting. If you select "none", Call Connector uses the transcript generated by your phone system, if available.

Some phone systems like Zoom Phone provide their own call summaries. Call Connector can use those directly.

Interaction with other settings

AI Summary requires a recording to work. No recording, no summary. The exception to this rule is Dialpad. If you're using Dialpad's native AI service, ensure that AI is enabled for the call in order to get a summary, even if you have Call Connector's AI Summary turned on.

If both AI Summary and Cloud Storage are off, Call Connector skips transcript processing entirely since neither feature needs it.

For meetings with the Video Conferencing addon, enabling AI Summary means meetings will be recorded even if Cloud Storage is off, because the recording is needed to generate a summary.

AI summaries only apply to calls and meetings, not SMS or faxes.
