Contact Creation determines whether Call Connector creates new contacts in your connected app when it can't find a match for the other party on a call or message.
For every call, SMS, or fax, Call Connector tries to match the external party to an existing contact in your app. It searches by phone number and email. If it finds a match, it uses that contact.
If there's no match and Contact Creation is on, Call Connector creates a new contact with the available information from the phone system.
If Contact Creation is off, no new contact is created. The event may still be logged depending on the app, but it won't be linked to a contact.
Some apps won't log an event at all unless a contact is found or created:
Always require a contact: Clio Grow, Lawmatics
Require a contact for SMS only: Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics
When Exclusive Contact Association is on: the contact requirement applies to all event types
If Contact Creation is off and the app requires a contact, the event is skipped.
Contacts are never auto-created for fax events, regardless of this setting.
